Science of Winter Olympics
Learning Goal: Use the physics concepts we have studied recently, evaluate competing designs to determine how well they meet the set criteria and constraints of the given problem.
Students had 4 different inquiry and 4 design questions/problems to choose from. Students worked in groups of 3-4 to create their own procedure to test (inquiry) or designed their own model to test (design).
Students presented their data to the class in 3 Minute Data Talks. The rest of the class used this data to compare their design with designs of others. Each group created their own display board to present all their information. Each group member completed their own report.
